No Doubt are a band who are known for their distinctive style so it doesn't come as too much of a surprise that they've just announced a collaboration with Fred Perry. The quirky quartet, which comprises of singer Gwen Stefani, bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young have worked with the Fred Perry design team to create three classic pieces inspired by their ska and reggae roots.
The slim-fit shirt (pictured) is available for both men and women from January, and features signature tipping detail on the sleeves and collar in dark gold, red and green. If you want to complete your No Doubt makeover then come spring you can get your hands on a punk-inspired tartan-check V-neck sweater and a fifties bomber. The band has had somewhat of a love affair with tartan over their 26-year career with Gwen often sporting tartan trousers and kilts on stage and featuring the Scottish heritage print in her own successful fashion label L.A.M.B.
Fred Perry has also enjoyed a long history of working with musicians, including British singer Amy Winehouse who created a collection with the brand before her tragic death last year. While Amy’s pieces captured the essence of her own glamorous retro style from playsuits and high-waist skirts to polo shirts with pink detailing and leather accessories, No Doubt’s Fred Perry collection is less girly and more in keeping with the band's rock ‘n’ roll vibe ensuring its appeal for both men and women.
