Drum roll, please! In the latest issue of Grazia, we proudly announce this year's top 10 best dressed. Our judging panel consists of footwear supremo Manolo Blahnik, fashion designer Zuhair Murad, Grazia's fashion director Susannah Frankel and Grazia's fashion editor Catherine Nieto who trawled through the style stars of the year to narrow down the year's finest dressers. Each day on Grazia Daily, we'll be counting down the top 10 so stay tuned. Next up, in ninth position is Rooney Mara!
Cast your mind back to February and the opening of the 2012 red carpet season... Ten months ago there wasn’t a designer on the planet not queuing up to dress Rooney Mara while girls the world over lopped off their fringes emulating her super-short bangs.
Rooney Mara leapt onto our fashion radar when she played Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, and was almost unrecognisable with the incredible transformation she underwent, that included her hair being dyed black, eyebrows bleached and lots of piercings. Off screen Rooney embraced part of her dramatic new look and changed from a girl next door with tumbling long hair to uber-sleek striking dresser, with a statement black fringe and scarlet red lips.
In 2012 Ms Mara wore Nina Ricci, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Rodarte, Prabal Gurun, Lanvin and more and she wore it extremely well. Most memorable was her Givenchy haute couture moment, though. She is the epitome of old school elegance and cool too - and that, we all know, is not easy.
