As camp as Christmas and as glittery as a disco ball, Girls Aloud have been pepping up the music world for an entire decade. Last weekend we enjoyed several major flashback moments when a three part documentary entitled ‘Girls Aloud Ten Years At The Top’ aired on ITV. From Popstars: The Rivals to GA’s reunion earlier this year, the documentary charts the highs and lows of Nicola, Kimberley, Nadine, Sarah and Cheryl over the past 10 years.
In anticipation of the next installment we thought we’d do our own homage to the fab five, but through a fashion lens, bien sur. In fashion terms, rather than a slight style shift, the Girls Aloud look has gone through a major transformation. Back in 2002 Girls Aloud were all about matching trackies, dodgy sheer leggings and schoolgirl costumes. To be honest its all a bit Halloween for our tastes. But we do love a happy ending, and luckily team GA’s sartorial palate has improved leaps and bounds in recent years.
While the girls are never going to be uber fashion icons, we love their experimental approach to fashion and the way they always seem to be having fun with their individual style. And of course they’ve all got killer bods so can pretty much get away with anything (this does not include the country and Western mini dresses as sported circa 2005 just FYI).
So click on through the gallery above and join with us in celebrating 10 years of fun, fizz and fashion evolution, Girls Aloud- style!
