The time for annual shop-floor price-slashing now arrives earlier than January sales of the past, and they finish quicker too - which means reductions right from the start. In order to act fast and succeed in your style mission watch Deputy Fashion News and Features Editor Hannah Almassi's her top five tips for surviving the sales.
Tip 1: Search the European and International online stores like Farfetch.com and The Corner. They buy different things than the UK stores and go on sale at different times so you could find something really unique.
Tip 2: Think about Spring Summer 2013 trends so that whatever you pick up in the sales now you'll get at least six months more wear out of.
Tip 3: Be prepared. Don't go crazy elbowing people out of the way on Boxing Day and come away with something you don't even like. Know what you want to buy first by browsing online and making a wish list.
Tip 4: Don't buy anything in the wrong size even if you think you might be able to fit into it in a few months’ time.
Tip 5: Go for classics like a cashmere jumper, a biker jacket or a camel coat that will become the pillars of your wardrobe.
