So Romeo Beckham is 10 years old and has landed his very own Burberry campaign. Nice work. So why did the Brit brand pick mini Becks to join the Burberry crew? Because he is one of THE most fashionable kids in celebville with a wardrobe to rival Suri's - and that's no mean feat. It also goes to explain why Romeo has been rocking so much Burberry check recently - most memorably on the red carpet at the Viva Forever! premiere last week - and didn't he look dapper?
Equally-dapper dad David has already revealed that Romeo has excellent taste in fashion. 'We used to try to dress them up, but now they want to wear their own things. Brooklyn will just wear his soccer shirts and T-shirts, but Romeo is the fashion one, so he'll go for skinny jeans and a vintage T-shirt and funny hats,' he said. 'One Christmas he asked for a pair of Spats shoes.' This Christmas, we imagine the little fashionista will be getting a LOT of Burberry trench coats.
Take a look through the gallery above and you'll see RB has taken a few tips from his fashionable father, who was nominated for the Style Icon award at this year's British Fashion Awards. The 10-year-old is a fan of beanies and distressed jeans but - just like his Dad - also knows how to work a suit (particularly if it comes courtesy of his new pal Christopher Bailey). He's also copied his papa when it comes to wearing matching beanies and identikit denim shirts when they team up to watch a basketball game or were spotted cheering on Tom Daley at this summer's Olympics. And don't even get us started on that mini-Becks mohak.
But Romeo doesn't just take inspiration from his fashionable parents - in fact, they're inspired by him too. Who do you think inspired VB's Autumn Winter 2012 collection? Yep, Romeo - and he was only nine. 'The baseball thing was literally me standing in the kitchen, Romeo runs in in his baseball outfit and I was like, "Okay, that's cool,"' Victoria told Grazia backstage at her show after presenting the sporty collection.
As if that wasn't proof enough of his fashion credentials, Romeo has already got the seal of approval from fashion royalty Karl Lagerfeld. The white-ponytailed designer told us that Romeo was 'handsome, cute, polite' when he met him on a shoot with his chic mum earlier this year. Hmm, might a Chanel campaign be the next addition to Romeo's style CV?
This has got us thinking about what's next for the adorably cute Beckham boy. Here are our 5 predictions...
- He will wear a velvet suit before the new year a la Eddie Redmayne.
- Forget LA sunshine, this Becks will learn to love the rain. Like jumping in puddles wearing a trench and umbrella.
- Romeo will get really good at doing Burberry's classic jumping-in-the-air pose.
- He will learn all about the art of the trench, and may even go metallic. Well, his dad DID wear a sarong once.
- Finally, he'll make a LFW cameo. Ooh, or a cheeky appearance on VB's catwalk? Let's make it happen!
