FIRST LOOK: Adidas Originals: Blue Featuring Prints By Hattie Stewart!

Lovely Adidas Originals – the people who have brought you such ace fashion/sportswear collaborations as Jeremy Scott and Opening Ceremony have done it again! As part of Adidas Originals: Blue, which is the streetwear division, if you will – Adidas bring you an amazing capsule collection for SS13 with super prints designed by illustrator and artist Hattie Stewart.

Hattie is a very talented London-based illustrator whose signature drawings include very expressive cheeky faces, heats, smileys and dollar signs. She can often be found customising magazine covers with her pots of paint and has already worked with fashion brands like House of Holland who correctly surmised that her doodly-happy drawing style would look as good on clothes as it does on paper.

We caught up with Hattie over a printing screen, as (yes really) she taught us how to silk-screen print, at the Print Club London using some of the Adidas/Hattie motifs that had been used on the collection.

‘I’ve really enjoyed creating these prints’ she told us ‘Adidas showed me amazing prints that have been used before from the Adidas archive, and we’ve played around with them and made them a little bit different for this collection’

The inspiration and starting point for the range was the 90’s – a decade we can all get behind, fashion-wise. The looks you can buy into include soft printed trousers, contrast panel tops, excellent printed trainers and even high heels and patch-pocket T shirts.

You can get yourself a piece of the capsule collection in Adidas stores and at www.adidas.com and prices range from £40 - £150 for women's apparel and £60 - £80 for women's footwear.
