It wasn't just the costumes that had us enthralled when Girls Aloud returned to the stage for the start of their Ten tour last night. There was another thing that caught our eye: Cheryl Cole's brand new tattoo.
The Geordie popstrel unveiled the new inking onstage in her hometown of Newcastle. The ginormous floral design at the base of her back allegedly took 11 hours to complete and covers up a previous tattoo of a butterfly. Cheryl also has a tribal design on her hand, a barbed wire design around her right thigh, as well as the words Mrs C on the back of her neck.
And Chezza isn't the only one. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has also added a new tattoo to her growing collection. Hitting rodeo drive in Beverly Hills on Thursday, the 25-year-old beauty showed off her latest inking of a hummingbird on her left wrist. The new tat joins the others she already has which include a small love heart on her right wrist and a star on her right ankle. The bird apparently signifies love and joy. Awww!
Cheryl and Rosie are among a growing list of female stars, including Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey and Rihanna who are demonstrating their love of ink with bigger and more dramatic designs. Scarlett Johansson recently showcased a horseshoe and the words 'Lucky You' etched onto her ribcage *winces* But she's got nothing on Lady Gaga who recently showcased her 10th tattoo - the name of her new album 'ARTPOP'.
With ten tattoos on her bod, Chez is catch uping with Mama Monster's ink tally and can certainly give tattoo lightweight Emma Stone a run for her money. Take a look through the gallery above to see more of our favourite tatt fans...
