If we aren’t obsessing over how many midi rings is too many, then the latest craze in the jewellery world is for ear cuffs. Now, while the ear cuff may not be blessed with the sexiest name in the world, they do look really good. Actress Michelle Williams – who until now we would’ve dismissed as an unlikely ear cuff radical – wore a series of little gold cuff earrings on her right ear for an appearance on the The Late Show With David Letterman earlier this week.
It wasn’t just the new asymmetric hairdo Michelle debuted, or the killer Christian Louboutin heels, the ear cuff styling certainly upped the punk attitude that the little lady decided to add to her subtle and minimalist navy Dior dress-coat from Raf Simons’ spring summer 2013 collection.
Rihanna, Diane Kruger, Miley Cyrus, Naomie Harris and Alicia Keys have all nodded to the jewellery trend, proving that no matter what your signature look, there’s a EC for all of us. We’re big fans here at Grazia HQ of the simple ear cuff – just like Michelle’s, a few gold bands will see you right. It’s obvious, but ear cuffs look better with a short ‘do or hair up; one does not want to get tangled in one’s own ear cuff, not chic.
