News has just reached us that Missoni’s menswear show will go ahead next Wednesday in Milan, as part of Men’s Fashion Week despite Vittorio Missoni's recent disappearance last Friday. The family have decided to go ahead 'in order to give continuity', they told WWD although it is believed that none of the family will attend the show.

It has been over a week since the chief executive of the Missoni brand, as well as his partner and two friends, went missing during a short flight from the island of Los Roques, just off the coast of Venezuela. Since his disappearance, there has been a week of air and sea searches with Vittorio’s brother Luca, a trained pilot, helping the Venezuelan authorities.

Yesterday, Vittorio’s eldest son Ottavio Missoni Jr talked to Italian publication Corriere della Sera about the situation, saying he was doubtful that the reason for his father's disappearance was a plane crash. 'My father will come back; we are waiting for him,' he said. 'I am not speaking with my head but with my heart. A plane cannot vanish in this way, on a short route, without leaving any trace.' He said that this theory was the 'least plausible' of all scenarios.
