Kate Moss is on a role! Givenchy, Versace, Stuart Weitzman… Mossy has already secured some pretty major campaigns for the new spring summer season, but she’s just added another extra-cool name to her growing client list for 2013: Rag & Bone.
This pairing makes for the second time that the Brit-boys-stateside – that’s fashion pals David Neville and Marcus Wainwright who developed their cult denim label to full-on catwalk status – have used our country’s most recognisable cheekbones and shaggy blonde ‘do. In contrast to last season’s urban London setting and tough leathers, black denim and kick-ass ankle boots (surely in celebration of opening their first UK store on Sloane Square last year), this new shoot lensed by Alasdair McLellan reflects the new sporty and lighter mood of the designers’ offering for spring.
So what happens if you ditch the streets of our fair capital? The Cotswolds! AKA Kate Moss’ weekend home-from-home. Did their fine muse recommend such a location? And just how were they so jammy to have such wonderful weather? “We shot our first campaign on a deserted North London street so thought it would be an interesting contrast to follow up in a remote English village, which Kate happens to have an affinity for. It was also a fun play on our British heritage,” Says Marcus. Being a semi-local, La Moss must’ve had a fabulous time introducing the duo to her beloved rural retreat; and guessing by those smiles she so easily cracked, we reckon it was a right ol’ countryside romp.
