We've just about calmed down after hearing the exciting news earlier this week that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their first baby. Now that we've debated Kim's maternity wardrobe it's time to think about what we could expect if the power couple turned their hands to creating their very own kids' klothing kollection. After all we know that these two love to experiment with fashion and have a thing for high end labels from Céline to Margiela, so why shouldn't their little one get a slice of the action too? Read on to find out what we think a children's line by Kimye might look like based on the evidence at our disposal...
1. Monochrome will feature heavily
As well as having a combo nickname, Kim and Kanye have an official stamp of coupledom: a unified dress code. From the couture shows in Paris to the BET Awards in Los Angeles the pair have kept things simple in black and white ensembles. A word of warning, Kimye - white isn't necessarily the best hue for a new born baby.
2. Kim will borrow from the Kardashian archive
Christmas jumpers, a hairband collection to rival Blair Waldorf's and sporty over-the-knee socks - all the ingredients are there for an adorable kids' kollection. With two sisters, one brother, two half-sisters and two step-brothers to her name, Kim will have plenty of old family albums for inspiration.
3. It will include tailoring for formal occasions
Kourtney's partner Scott Disick - who goes by the name Lord Disick - is quite a character and loves to rock traditional menswear pieces. From dinner jackets and bowties to velvet slippers and flat caps, Scott's style is totally Gatsby-esque and it looks like Kim's super cute nephew Mason is a chip off the old block.
4. There'll be loads of leopard print
If you've checked out Kim, Khloe and Kourtney's recent Kardashian Kollection you'll know that these gals lurrrvve leopard print. Could Kim produce kiddie versions of the sisters' previous lines for Dorothy Perkins, Sears or QVC?
5. The pair will seek advice from Kim's mum and sister
For six years Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian ran Smooch - a children's boutique in Los Angeles - and Kim's grandmother also had a kids' clothing shop in LaJolla for over 30 years. Smooch closed down when Kourtney had her son Mason as she and Mum-manager Kris didn't have enough time to dedicate to the store. Perhaps if Kim and Kanye launch a kids' line Smooch might re-launched alongside the family's other chain of boutiques, Dash, in order to stock the mini-me pieces.
6. The whole family will be involved
If there's one thing we've learnt about the Kardashians it's that they don't do things solo. Whether they're shooting their annual Kristmas Kard or choosing where to eat lunch every member of the clan likes to put in their two cents worth. And they all like to dress the same. Next year, expect to see mini Kimye (mimye?) on that kard!
