Next, she caused controversy as the cute-as-a-button face of Miu Miu’s Autumn Winter 2011 advertising campaign and bagged FROW seats at Fashion Weeks around the world. Oh, did we mention she’s only just turned 16? (celebrating a sweet 16th in new season Louis Vuitton, obvs).
Yes, we're talking about Hailee Steinfeld who's been growing up before our very eyes and has just sealed the high fashion deal with a sizzling spread in this month's issue of V magazine. The teen queen graces the pages alongside cover star Kristen Stewart and models the best of what the Spring 2013 collections have to offer - we're talking everything from Lanvin to Stella McCartney and cool-label-du-jour, Saint Laurent.
It's a giant leap away from that sugary sweet image. In one shot, the actress looks fiercer than ever dressed in a black leather biker jacket teamed wtih an ankle-skimming maxi skirt, both from Saint Laurent, worn with a low-key Equipment shirt. Her long dark locks are scraped off her face in a slicked-back style and her scowl is of K-Stew proportions.
In another, Miss Steinfeld looks tres serious with mega brows, minimal makeup, sleeked-back hair and a structured, peplum'd white blouse worn over androgenous-like, wide-legged brown trousers. There's even one of her wearing Nike socks with brogues! Yup, she's barely recognisable from the cutsey starlet who first burst onto the scene.
With Academy Award and BAFTA nomination already under her (16-yea- old) belt, Hailee's upcoming and highly-anticipated role in the remake of Romeo & Juliet is sure to be a hit and we can't wait to see her grown-up style on the red carpet rounds.
